Pay & Hours
Competitive pay of £27,000 per annum and a working week of 39 hours. We are open to discussing flexible working hours to accommodate your needs where possible.
Job Role
As an Assistant Shop Manager you will assist the Shop Manager with leading, training and working alongside the team. You will prepare fresh ingredients and produce sandwiches, baguettes and other food products in line with company standards, provide excellent customer service and sell high‐quality fresh food. You will assist with the day‐to‐day running of the store, supervise the team and run the shop during the Manager's absence (including up to two weeks of annual leave). You will drive business growth through increasing sales, controlling costs and delivering profit, while developing and leading the shop team to build a loyal customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure store schedules and objectives are met, managing and controlling all aspects of the shop.
- Assist the Shop Manager with training, leading and developing the team.
- Welcome customers and create an inviting experience.
- Receive and check daily deliveries.
- Assist with branch stock and produce management.
- Maintain shop displays.
- Have excellent knowledge and understanding of products.
- Prepare food in line with specifications.
- Ensure food and produce quality control.
- Maintain the highest level of hygiene and food safety standards.
- Work efficiently within a team.
- Handle cash, till operations and banking.
- Open or close the shop when required.
- Run shifts at various times, including when the manager is on annual leave.
- Drive sales and minimise wastage.
- Provide great service experiences for customers.
- Collaborate with the Shop Manager to lead and train the team as required.
- Achieve consistently high standards.
