Summary: We are looking to employ a project manager to join our team and work on a range of complex projects. The role would suit a candidate with a civil / structural engineering background. The right candidate will be a practical thinker, a problem solver, capable of multitasking. The role will at times entail managing multiple small projects, ensuring our site teams are resourced and briefed on the works they will be doing. Some previous experience in one or all of; Structural testing, investigation, remedial and strengthening projects is preferred. Any experience with works such as:
- Structural investigation; - NDT and intrusive works
- Structural testing; - load tests, pull out tests, geotechnical tests
- Concrete repair and waterproofing
- CFRP strengthening
- Hydraulics – flat jacking, load transfer, preloading, torquing.
- Temporary works installation
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Planning, leading and managing structural investigation, site surveys, and/or structural strengthening, remediation projects.
- Leading teams collecting non-destructive testing (NDT) and intrusive data, as well as material samples.
- Carrying out inspection, survey and measurement of structural elements on-site.
- Processing of site survey data and samples.
- Producing technical Method Statements and Risk Assessments and reports.
- Site visits and compiling investigation specific fee proposals/tender returns.
- Client liaison and developing Client partnerships.
- Initial contract reviews.
- Managing teams of site operatives.
- Commercial responsibilities.
- Labour allocation.
- SHEQ responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years site experience as a Site engineer, Site manager or Project manager
- Numeracy and literacy to GCSE level C or equivalent
- Formal qualification in construction / civil engineering.
- CSCS card & SSSTS / SMSTS – this can be facilitated if not already in place.
- Capable of writing technical RAMS and reports, project programme and commercial reporting
- Clear communicator, both written and spoken English
- Clean UK manual driving licence - company car/van will be provided.
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel and Word.
- In depth knowledge of structures and construction materials
