Wentworth Technical Services (WTS) is a specialist provider of structural testing, investigation, strengthening and hydraulic engineering solutions. Operating across London and the Home Counties, we deliver a wide range of complex projects for clients in the construction and infrastructure sectors. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Site Technician to join our expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on varied and technically challenging projects while developing your skills within a supportive and experienced team.
The Role
As a Site Technician, you will play a key role in delivering on-site testing, surveys and inspections using a range of specialist equipment and techniques. The role is hands-on and suited to someone who enjoys practical engineering work and problem-solving in a site-based environment. You will be supported by experienced senior technicians, with ongoing training and development to help you progress within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out on-site testing, inspections and surveys across a variety of projects.
- Undertake structural and geotechnical testing, including:
- Plate bearing (CBR) testing and DCP testing
- Pull-out testing of bolts and fixings
- Load capacity testing
- Operate specialist equipment such as:
- GPR and ferro-scanning systems
- 3D point cloud scanning equipment
- Total stations and other survey tools
- Accurately record site data using tablets and logbooks.
- Upload and manage site records in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure all work is undertaken in line with approved test methods, relevant standards and company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and professionalism on site.
- Assist in the planning and efficient delivery of site works to meet client requirements.
