A Junior Revit Technician at Wentworth is responsible for the preparation, detailing and modelling of structures using industry standard software (Autodesk, Civil 3D, Revit etc.) from engineer’s briefs under the supervision of an Engineer / Senior Technician. They use their knowledge and skills and work alongside experienced CAD Technicians to assist in preparation of drawings and models with appropriate skill and care in accordance with the requirements of the brief. They execute tasks in accordance with the instructions given by their supervising engineer/CAD technician.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Regularly contacts technicians and engineers & diligently communicates with their supervising engineer/senior technician to ensure that work develops efficiently and in line with projected timescale and budget.
  • Has a basic understanding of industry standard software packages (AutoCAD and Revit) with a capability to visualize in 3D and learn how to generate 3D models, 2D drawings, plans, sections and details as required by engineers/clients with a good understanding of spatial perception.
  • Has the willingness and ability to learn new software in accordance with the business needs such as Revit Structures / Civil 3D / Tekla 3D etc.
  • Ability to set out an engineering drawing.
  • Has a basic understanding of the execution of projects in accordance with BS EN ISO 19650 'Organization and digitization of information about buildings and civil engineering works, including building information modelling (BIM)'.
  • Understands that the time allocated for each task is related to a contractual engagement with a client, and deviating from the time allocated for a task has commercial implications for the project and for the wider business.

Requirements

  • Currently undertaking or completed a relevant degree, HND or HNC.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years experience in a similar role.
