We are seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer to support the delivery of geotechnical solutions across a range of infrastructure, building, and civil engineering projects. The role involves geotechnical analysis, design development, and interpretation of ground investigation data, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective designs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Undertake geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, retaining structures, slopes, earthworks, and ground improvement solutions
  • Interpret ground investigation and laboratory testing data
  • Carry out geotechnical calculations in accordance with Eurocodes, British Standards, and project specifications
  • Prepare technical reports, design statements, and drawings
  • Support the planning and scoping of ground investigations
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
  • Provide technical input during construction, including responding to site queries
  • Contribute to risk assessments, value engineering, and constructability reviews
  • Ensure designs meet health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in geotechnical design within a consultancy or contracting environment
  • Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics
  • Knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK design practice
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
