Wentworth Club is one of the world’s finest private members Golf and Country Clubs, famous for its outstanding three Championship golf courses, in addition to a luxury Tennis & Health Club. The Club is surrounded and entwined within the Wentworth Estate, one of the most prestigious private estates in the London suburbs where many of the world’s premier golfers have their home.
The IT Support Technician will provide day-to-day technical support across the business, ensuring staff, Members, departments, meetings, and events receive reliable and responsive IT assistance. The role is primarily focused on front-line IT support, including user support, device setup, account management, troubleshooting, meeting room technology, printers, network connectivity, and general IT service delivery. This position plays an important part in supporting the smooth running of daily operations and maintaining a high standard of IT service across the Club.
Key Responsibilities- Provide first-line and second-line IT support to staff across the business.
- Respond to IT support requests in a timely, professional, and helpful manner.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, network, and user access issues.
- Support users with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and general desktop applications.
- Escalate more complex technical issues where required.
- Prepare, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, mobile phones, tablets, and other IT equipment.
- Support new starter onboarding by ensuring devices, accounts, access, and equipment are ready before start dates.
- Assist with leaver processes, including account disabling, equipment recovery, and access removal.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, devices, and assigned equipment.
- Create, amend, and disable user accounts in line with company procedures.
- Support password resets, multi‑factor authentication, and access‑related requests.
- Assist with access permissions for shared drives, Microsoft 365, business systems, and other platforms.
- Ensure access is provided securely and only where approved.
- Provide IT support for meeting rooms, conference technology, AV equipment, and presentation setups.
- Assist with business functions and events where technical support is required.
- Ensure key rooms and equipment are checked, working, and available when needed.
- Provide hands‑on support during important meetings or events where required.
- Support printer setup, troubleshooting, and general print‑related issues.
- Assist users with Wi‑Fi, VPN, and network connectivity problems.
- Carry out basic network checks and escalate infrastructure issues where needed.
- Support the general availability and reliability of IT services across the business.
- Log, update, and close support tickets accurately.
- Maintain documentation for common fixes, IT procedures, and support processes.
- Assist with IT audits, asset checks, and compliance activities.
- Follow IT policies, security standards, and change control processes.
- Support the business in maintaining good cyber security practices.
- Assist with patching, updates, antivirus checks, and device compliance.
- Report suspected security incidents or unusual activity immediately.
- Follow company policies relating to data protection, information security, and acceptable use.
- Experience in an IT support, service desk, or technical support role.
- Good knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365.
- Experience supporting Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office applications.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and group access.
- Good troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, printers, and connectivity.
- Experience setting up laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Good communication skills and the ability to support non‑technical users.
- A professional, calm, and helpful approach to IT support.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow processes.
- Fortinet / FortiGate / FortiClient VPN.
- Windows Server environments.
- Active Directory and Azure AD / Entra ID.
- Networking basics, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and Wi‑Fi.
- Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001 environments.
- IT asset management tools.
- Helpdesk or ticketing systems.
- AV and meeting room technology.
- Experience working within the hospitality, leisure, or sports industry, ideally within a 5‑star sector of the industry.
