The Club is surrounded and entwined within the Wentworth Estate, one of the most prestigious private estates in the London suburbs where many of the world’s premier golfers have their home.
As our Chef De Partie, you will work as part of our large culinary team. You will deliver exceptional service to our Members and Guests, providing culinary excellence and ensuring that we are meeting expectations and consistently WOWING our Members.
Key Areas of Activity:
- Producing food within your designated section whilst also supervising junior chefs and checking all dishes before they are sent.
- Being fully knowledgeable about all food outlet menus, particularly items which are the responsibility of your section and of their recipes and quantities.
- Ensuring correct stock control procedures are adhered to, including the appropriate storage, rotation, and retention of stock, and notifying any irregularities to the Head Chef.
- Assisting the Sous, Senior Sous, and Head Chef with the ordering of food items for the section.
- Carrying out on-the-job training for staff within your section, completing the relevant training records.
- Assisting the Sous, Senior Sous, and Head Chef in identifying opportunities to improve the profitability of the section.
- Ensuring the effective use of utilities (gas, electricity, and water) and equipment within the Kitchen, reporting any maintenance issues at the earliest opportunity.
- Working in close liaison with all sections of the kitchen to ensure efficient service and maintain a high level of communication with colleagues and other staff.
- Adhering to all statutory requirements regarding fire, health and safety, and hygiene.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel or restaurant would be beneficial but not essential.
- Someone who is fanatical about standards and genuinely cares about the quality of the food they prepare.
- A self-motivated and hardworking individual who is a team player.
- An individual with impeccable cleaning standards, dedicated to maintaining a safe and pleasant environment.
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Demi Chef de Partie.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 Culinary/Chef qualification.
- Must be a team player and work well with and train others.
- A desire to produce food to the highest quality and presentation.
- Having the ability to adapt efficiently to member requests.
