Position Overview: The Restaurant Technology Engineer provides engineering, configuration and operational support for restaurant technology platforms across UK & Europe. Working as part of the international technology team, the role is responsible for configuring, maintaining and supporting Point of Sale (POS), self-service Kiosks, Kitchen Display Systems (KDS), Menus, Pricing and other restaurant technologies used across the business. The role works closely with US-based technology teams, restaurant operations, external vendors and managed service partners to implement technology changes, resolve technical issues and support the successful delivery of restaurant technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and optimize restaurant technology platforms, including POS, KDS, kiosks, and related applications, ensuring reliable operation and accurate configuration across markets.
- Build and deploy restaurant technology changes, including menus, pricing, promotions, and system configurations, conducting testing and validation activities to ensure successful production releases.
- Support restaurant technology initiatives and business operations, including new restaurant openings, remodels, and time-sensitive marketing campaigns, while maintaining technical documentation and configuration records.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for restaurant technology platforms, resolving configuration, integration, and operational issues across supported systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for Help Desk teams, managing complex incidents, providing technical guidance, and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Partner with internal teams and technology vendors to investigate and resolve technical issues, while supporting business-critical events, restaurant openings, and technology deployments.
- Collaborate with technology vendors and managed service providers to resolve technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions across restaurant technology platforms.
- Support the successful implementation of restaurant technology changes through testing, change management, and deployment activities across international markets.
Qualifications:
- Experience supporting retail, hospitality or QSR technology.
- Hands-on experience with POS, menu, pricing and promotional configurations.
- Experience working with third party technology vendors and support partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience supporting Kitchen Display Systems (KDS) and self-service kiosks.
- Experience supporting digital ordering and delivery aggregation.
- Support in franchise restaurant environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL process.
