At Wendron, we are committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious learning environment in which every child is supported and challenged to be the very best they can be. We are seeking someone who shares this commitment and understands the important role that support staff play in securing high-quality teaching, learning and pastoral provision.
We are particularly interested in candidates who:
• Have a secure understanding of the primary curriculum, including how knowledge and skills develop progressively, and can confidently support teaching and learning across a range of subjects.
• Have experience of supporting pupils with differing abilities, needs and starting points, ideally within a mixed-age or Key Stage 2 classroom.

• Demonstrate a calm, consistent and nurturing approach to behaviour, balancing empathy and understanding with clear boundaries and high expectations.
• Can deliver targeted learning interventions to individuals and small groups, using assessment and feedback to support progress.
• Are proactive, reflective and able to use their initiative, working collaboratively with the class teacher and wider team to create a purposeful and positive learning environment.
• Understand the importance of modelling the behaviours, language and attitudes we want to see in our children.
Experience of providing HLTA or whole-class cover would be desirable, although this is not essential for the right candidate.
As a Church of England primary school, our Christian vision, 'To live life, life in all its fullness' (John 10:10), is at the heart of everything we do.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to our Christian values of Respect, Hope, Thankfulness, Trust, Perseverance and Wisdom, and be willing and able to confidently articulate how these are reflected in their everyday practice and contribution to school life.
Above all, we are looking for a positive and enthusiastic team member who will become fully involved in the Wendron community, share our aspirations for every child and help us create an environment in which everyone has the opportunity to flourish.
