We are looking for a Full‑Time Equine Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in Orthopaedics. The ideal candidate would be someone with an Orthopaedic/Diagnostic Imaging/Lameness Certificate, currently working towards a certificate or keen to do so.
We have a very mixed case load extending from pony club ponies through to amateur and competition horses. Our clinic is based in the heart of the Chiltern Hills just outside of Wendover, Bucks. We have great transport links into London and all international airports, local amenities nearby and outstanding schools in the area. Break times can be spent in the communal kitchen area, or you can stretch your legs with a walk around Wendover Woods.
The successful candidate will be expected to accept internal lameness referrals from the current six FTE clinicians for in‑clinic work‑ups and will also participate as a member of the ambulatory team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing equine team.
About the rota
Our vets work a 40‑hour week over 4 days. We provide our own OOH service, this includes up to 1 weeknight per week and currently a 1:6 weekend rota.

We benefit from an onsite clinic facility which includes a treatment room, 5 stables, equine theatre with an induction/recovery room, paddocks, trot‑up area, hard lunge and lunge menage. We regularly carry out a range of different diagnostics and have access to varied equipment including x‑ray, ultrasound, gastroscopes, endoscopes, laser and a range of dental equipment. We have regular visits from travelling surgeons.
Team
Our veterinary team currently consists of 6 veterinary surgeons – 1 DOP, 1 CertAVP Int Med, 1 senior vet, 1 experienced vet and 2 three‑year qualifieds. We also have a nursing team with 4 RVNS and 1 veterinary technician, our office staff consist of 1 PM, 2 equine co‑ordinators and 1 accounts administrator. Our clinic shares facilities with a very well‑established small animal practice, with a friendly, sociable environment with plenty of people around.
