Who are we? In 2017, after more than ten years in the lift industry across Europe and Asia, Benoît Dupont noticed a system stuck in its ways where speed takes priority over quality and frontline teams remain invisible. With Jade Francine and Tristan Foureur, he founded WeMaintain to put technology, trust and people back at the heart of building maintenance. Their ambition: give technicians back their autonomy, rely on in-house IoT technology, and deliver a service designed for users and clients. Based in Paris, London, Singapore and Hong Kong, we maintain lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems. With 300+ employees, we combine on-the-ground expertise with data-driven management to deliver high-performing, transparent, and sustainable maintenance. We don’t just maintain buildings. We transform how they’re operated.
Who we’re looking for? We are looking for a Project Manager, Modernisation & New Install to join our Modernisation team in London. This is a hands‑on delivery leadership role, suited to someone who has already managed technically complex lift modernisation or new installation projects from start to finish. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery of projects across London and Greater London, making sure they are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to a high‑quality standard. You’ll be the person creating clarity across clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, internal teams and site teams. That means strong planning, calm execution, clear communication, and no surprises. This role is key to how we scale our Modernisation activity in the UK: delivering strong projects today, while helping us build better ways of working for tomorrow.
Your day-to-day at WeMaintain You will lead the delivery of lift modernisation and new installation projects from kick‑off through to commissioning and handover. This includes planning the programme, aligning resources, managing milestones, tracking risks, and making sure projects stay under control as they move through each phase. You’ll manage several projects in parallel, balancing site constraints, access windows, supplier timelines, subcontractor coordination and client expectations. Some weeks will be more site‑heavy, others more focused on planning, reporting and stakeholder management. You will be the main point of contact for clients, consultants and key project stakeholders, making sure communication is proactive, expectations are clear, and issues are surfaced early. You’ll work closely with installation teams, subcontractors and suppliers to make sure execution on site is smooth, safe and high quality. You’ll also stay close to Sales at handover stage to lock scope, expectations, stakeholder mapping and commercial assumptions from the start. You will own the commercial control of your projects, including budgets, variations, forecasting, reporting, risks and mitigations. You’ll keep a strong grip on what is moving, what is blocked, and what needs to be escalated. You’ll also ensure documentation and compliance are consistently strong: RAMS, permits, technical files, site records, progress updates and handover packs. Safety and quality will be central to how you work. You’ll bring a “do it right” mindset, a strong site presence when needed, and a zero‑compromise approach to health and safety. The role is field‑facing, with regular site visits across London and Greater London. The split will vary by project phase, but you can expect to spend around 2 to 4 days per week on site on average, combined with structured project control time.
What we’re looking for You could be a great fit if you have strong, hands‑on Project Management experience in the lift industry, ideally across modernisation, new installations, or both. You know how to lead complex technical projects, make decisions, unblock issues, and keep delivery moving even when things are messy or under pressure. You understand lift systems, site constraints, installation realities and UK safety standards. You’re comfortable working with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams, and you know how to create alignment between people who do not always have the same priorities. You’re highly organised, commercially sharp, and confident managing budgets, variations, risks and forecasts. You communicate clearly and consistently. People know where things stand with you. You create trust because you are structured, proactive and calm under pressure. Most importantly, you take pride in quality and safety. You don’t cut corners. You raise the bar.
Bonus points if You have managed both modernisation packages and new installations, including multi‑unit or multi‑stakeholder projects. You hold relevant UK site safety qualifications such as SMSTS or SSSTS, or an equivalent certification. You have a formal project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM PMQ/PPQ, PMP, or equivalent. You are comfortable with project management and reporting tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Excel or dashboards. You have experience working with consultants, main contractors or client‑side project managers. You bring particular strengths in risk management, programme recovery, client communication or process improvement.
What success looks like You deliver projects safely, on time, on budget and to a consistently high‑quality standard. You keep strong control of programme adherence, budget performance, variation management, documentation and customer satisfaction. Clients and stakeholders experience a calm, controlled delivery: clear plans, clear communication, clean handovers and no unnecessary surprises. Internally, you build strong relationships with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and field teams, helping everyone work better together. Over time, you help the Modernisation team raise its standards and improve how projects are delivered at scale.
What we offer A role with real ownership and visibility in a growing Modernisation activity. The opportunity to shape how complex lift projects are delivered in the UK. A supportive manager and team, with a culture of trust, transparency and respect. A mission‑driven company with high standards for quality, safety and customer experience. Exposure to diverse projects and room to keep developing professionally.
