We have an exciting opportunity for a four session Salaried GP to join our experienced and diverse clinical team. We are a friendly, high achieving, innovative practice with two sites and a list size of just over 12,000 patients. One site is in the picturesque market town of Wem and the second a dispensing branch in the village of Prees. Both sites have convenient free parking. We are a Tier 2 Sponsoring Practice and are open to a flexible start date later in the year.
We offer a supportive working environment; clinicians meet for coffee after morning surgery each day and are proud of our reputation as an excellent training practice for Registrars and Medical students. We currently have seven experienced GP Partners and three Salaried GPs and are a military veteran practice. Using EMIS Web, we are high QOF achievers and have a good CQC rating. We have been operating as a Modern GP Practice since April 2024, and have supported other practices to move to Total Triage. We work from modern premises and are a growing team benefiting from additional PCN staff including Pharmacist, Pharmacy Tech, Physiotherapist, Cancer Care Co-ordinator and a Social Prescriber.
Shrewsbury with its 600 listed buildings, beautiful riverside walks and quirky independent shopping is only 20 mins away by road or rail, Chester, Birmingham and the wider motorway network are all within an hour's driving. Excellent local state primary and secondary schools with outstanding/good OFSTED reports.
Main duties of the job
We offer four sessions which are currently blended with telephone consultation and face-to-face scheduled appointments, including home visiting. Support is available from our GP Partner who leads the team of SGPs, regular 121's and training through the probation period to ensure a smooth transition into the practice. After a period of time there will be a regular duty day commitment, shared equally between the doctors, this is regularly reviewed and operates smoothly with Duty Receptionist supporting the Duty doctor as we embrace new ways of working.
We ask that you have great interpersonal skills and a willingness to be reliable, flexible and a positive member of our team. Registered GP with the GMC and possess the right to work in the UK. Job responsibilities
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
