Starting salary £26,720 pa with progression to £27,134 pa through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance).

37 hours per week (including occasional evenings and weekends). Permanent role.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Support Officer to join our Governance team to provide a full range of corporate support.

In this role you will be responsible for the council’s post function processing the outgoing mail, receiving and processing goods inwards and ensuring packages are delivered to the appropriate service team. You will provide support to the Elections team, assist at civic events, raise and lower flags on official occasions, and be involved with emergencies when they arise.

You will have experience in administration and good IT skills. You will need to be flexible, pro-active, and able to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines. You will have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing. You will be motivated, able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post. The post holder will have a full UK driving license as the role requires frequent travel across the borough. The role will include occasional evening and weekend working to assist with events.
