Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is looking for a Building Safety Manager.
Welwyn Hatfield is the biggest landlord in the area, with 9,000 rented and 1,300 leasehold homes.
We are investing £150 million in people's homes over the next five years with a target of being net zero by 2030.
Whether your skills and experience are in Surveying, Building Safety Compliance, Repairs or Climate Change we want to hear from you.
You will lead the development and delivery of the Councils Building Safety and Compliance services ensuring that we meet all regulatory requirements and service plan objectives to deliver an excellent property maintenance service.
You will manage a team of Compliance Officers within the service area, monitor their performance to ensure that high standards are met to achieve high satisfaction for our tenants.
You will be able to motivate the team and encourage their development.
Communication is key to building partnerships with members of your team, stakeholders, contractors, and internal staff to identify and implement service improvements through collaborative working.
You will have a professional technical qualification in a relevant discipline or experience of working in a similar role.
You will have experience of working in a social housing setting and have the understanding of statutory regulations relating to engineering, construction and buildings.
You will have experience of contract management, excellent presentation skills along with IT skills, be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
You will have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
The role is hybrid with the expectation of attending the office 3 days a week, depending on service needs.
