Are you ready to take the next steps in your legal career? This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, supportive and forward-thinking Legal Service.
We are looking to recruit a motivated and ambitious Trainee Solicitor to strengthen our legal team.You will start in October 2025, and the training will be carried out in line with the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority over a period of two years.
You must have a law degree (or non-law degree with conversion) with a minimum grade of 2:1 or equivalent. You must have successfully completed the Legal Practice Course.
You must be IT literate, enthusiastic and confident with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, able to act on your own initiative and demonstrate a problem-solving approach throughout the apprenticeship.
The ideal candidate will have the confidence to deal with various individuals and groups.You will be supported to undertake the Professional Skills Course whilst gaining invaluable on-the-job experience.You will need to be a team player, reliable, adaptable, conscientious, and able to work to instructions.
During your training contract with us you will work across both our Property/Conveyancing team, dealing with a wide range of property and conveyancing matters – and the Litigation Team where you will support the Litigators in dealing with civil and criminal litigation matters.You will develop your legal knowledge, building your academic knowledge of the Law as well as developing your internal and external network and learning about the law relating to local government.
Training to be provided
- Job-specific training through working alongside experienced staff five days a week;
- Attendance as necessary at Professional Skills Courses
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
