Starting salary £30,756 pro rata with progression to £34,011 pro rata through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance). 15.5 hours per week (hybrid working). Fixed term contract up to 12 months maternity cover.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a broad range of financial activities relating to banking, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Ensure income is allocated to the appropriate accounts using the Council’s financial system.
- Import and process bank files and files from different portals, cash and cheques via the financial system.
- Answer queries via phone, email or face‑to‑face from colleagues across the Council about banking/income related matters.
- Support other Financial Processes Officers in other areas when required.
- Attend the office at least one day a week, dependent on service needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience working in a financial environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle face‑to‑face and telephone queries.
- Strong prioritisation skills to meet competing deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in accurate spoken English.
