Starting salary £41,992pa with progression to £45,089pa through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance).

37 hours per week (hybrid working). Permanent contract.

Ensuring our housing stock is maintained to the highest possible standard is a key priority for Welwyn Hatfield. Our commitment is to invest £150 million in people’s homes over the next five years with a target of being net zero by 2030. To achieve this, we are looking for a Building Surveyor (Stock Condition) to support this exciting long-term project.

What you will do:

  • You will carry out a programme of inspections to our social housing portfolio, carrying out internal and external visits, collating information to be used for future investment opportunities.
  • You will be required to assist the Repairs and Voids team in ensuring our housing stock is both safe and of a high quality for our tenants.

What will you need:

  • You will be formally qualified in Building Studies.
  • You should be highly experienced in diagnosing building faults and providing cost-effective solutions.
  • This will give you the ability to identify repairs, draw up specifications, make technical decisions and solve complex problems.
  • You should be knowledgeable regarding building standards and passionate about delivering customer focussed outcomes.
  • The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
  • You will have a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
