Starting salary £28,426 per annum with progression to £30,324 per annum through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance). 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), Permanent contract.

About the Role

HatTech and WelTech Business Centres are modern facilities supporting start‑up and growing businesses within the Borough, offering private offices, meeting rooms, virtual office services, co‑working space, and networking opportunities. We are recruiting two Team Administrators to support the day‑to‑day operation of both business centres. These are customer‑facing roles requiring strong organisation, sound judgement, and the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy front‑of‑house environment. You will help to ensure a professional and welcoming service for clients, visitors and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, contractors, and council colleagues.
  • Provide front‑of‑house reception services and manage the business centre phoneline.
  • Support centre management with administrative and operational tasks across both sites.
  • Raise purchase orders and goods receipts and collate data for monthly invoicing.
  • Manage meeting room bookings, room set‑up, refreshments, and stock levels.
  • Order and manage stock for stationery, cleaning, and shared kitchen areas.
  • Maintain the security access database and issue or deactivate access cards.
  • Support marketing activity, enquiries from prospective licensees, and networking events.
  • Manage post and deliveries, maintain low‑level cleaning standards.
  • Act as a keyholder to unlock and secure the building.
  • Provide emergency first aid when on site.

About You

  • Confident working in a customer‑facing, front‑of‑house environment.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with a wide range of people.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Can prioritise effectively, remain calm under pressure, and use good judgement.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and experience using booking or financial systems.
  • Flexible and willing to work across both sites on a rota basis.
  • Ability to converse with ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

The role is office based. We can offer you a unique working environment across two sites in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield.
