Starting salary £33,363pa with potential progression to £43,690pa on achieving designated skills and experience.

We are looking to recruit a Planning Enforcement Officer to Senior Planning Enforcement Officer with enthusiasm to be part of the wider Development Management team. You will report to the Principal Planning Enforcement Officer, and have some responsibility for overseeing another officer. You will be responsible for a range of work within our planning enforcement team, including investigating and monitoring alleged breaches of planning legislation relating to a variety of sites.
You will need to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, applicants, agents, solicitors and the wider community as part of providing an efficient and responsive customer-focussed service.
You will have good communication and negotiation skills and be able to demonstrate methodical and well organised working. It is essential that you have experience in planning enforcement and can work and make decisions with minimal supervision. You will have some experience in staff management.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
Due to the nature of the job, you will have a current driving licence and use of a car.
