We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Learning and Communities Officer to join our team. With proven experience you will organise and deliver educational visits as well as a programme of learning-based events and activities in a museum environment.
You will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate a commitment to developing curriculum-based education sessions for schools at both sites of the Museum Service.
This busy service runs two heritage sites. At Mill Green Museum and Mill we operate an 18th century working watermill alongside a social history museum set within the original miller’s house. At Welwyn Roman Baths, we show the remains of a 3rd century Anglo/Roman bathing suite, ingeniously preserved 9 meters under the A1M motorway.
You will have the responsibility to lead a learning support team to encourage greater use of the museum service where there are exciting opportunities to further develop learning opportunities for schools, groups and other organisations across all ages.
Having a good standard of English and Maths, you will have proven experience of teaching. You will be able to show good organisation and IT skills with a positive approach to quality assurance and excellent customer service.
You will have a flexible approach to working some weekends and evenings.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
