The predicted salary is between 34431 - 37464 £ per year.

Starting salary £34,431pa with progression to £37,464pa through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance). 37 hours per week (hybrid working). Fixed term up to 12 months (maternity cover).

About the role: As a Community Development Officer, you will lead on the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of events, projects, initiatives and campaigns. You will proactively engage with community leaders and build links with local organisations to identify gaps in provision, and lead operational matters for the Community Inclusion Partnership, progressing project work and initiatives. This role requires a presence in the office at least two days a week and requires out‑of‑office community engagement including occasional evenings and weekends supporting campaigns and events such as This Girl Can and Big Summer.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate community events, projects, initiatives and campaigns.
  • Engage with community leaders and build links with local organisations.
  • Identify gaps of provision within the community.
  • Lead operational matters for the Community Inclusion Partnership and progressing project work.
  • Attend community events and support campaigns such as This Girl Can and Big Summer.
  • Maintain presence in the office at least two days per week.

About you: We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude who can act as a role model within their local community.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to A Level or have equivalent experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to travel around the borough.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, adaptability and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to develop creative and effective solutions to complex issues.
  • Capability to work collaboratively or independently and take initiative with confidence.
