Home Ownership Officer – Career Grade (RP0146)
Salary £30,756 – £37,464 per annum (Career Grade Scheme with appointment level dependent on experience). 37 hours per week (hybrid working).
Role Summary
Our aim is to put our customers at the heart of what we do. An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Home Ownership Team for a Career Grade Home Ownership Officer. This career grade post is the perfect role for either an experienced leasehold practitioner or someone looking to start out in their career in leasehold. Either way, we want to support and develop your skills to maximise the value of your contribution to the council. And we expect to appoint someone who has a genuine drive for personal development and achievement. This is a key role, and it will be up to you to provide a customer focussed, proactive, comprehensive and high‑quality leasehold management service to council leaseholders in Welwyn Hatfield.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a customer focussed, proactive, comprehensive and high‑quality leasehold management service to council leaseholders in Welwyn Hatfield.
- Calculate and bill annual service charges & major works.
- Administer the sale of council properties through the right to buy.
- Analyse and interpret information to support decision‑making.
- Engage with customers displaying challenging behaviour and provide accurate spoken English advice.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience of working in a Housing, Accounts or Administration field.
- Experience of analysing and interpreting information in a meaningful and understandable way.
- Good level of numeric, analytical and decision‑making skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and other systems/applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills tailored towards a range of audiences.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively manage and plan a varied workload.
- Experience of dealing with customers displaying challenging behaviour.
