Responsibilities
- Welcoming donors and ensuring a friendly, flexible customer service experience.
- Screening donors to determine eligibility for that day's donation.
- Preparing and taking blood samples using venepuncture (technical training will be provided).
- Providing basic clinical advice and aftercare to donors.
- Maintaining accurate records throughout the donation process.
- Loading, unloading, and assembling mobile donation equipment.
- Driving duties as required; must be able to travel to various sites and operate WBS fleet vehicles and team minibuses.
- Working as part of a multi‑skilled team to deliver high standards of customer service and care.
- Safeguarding donor and patient safety by working to agreed clinical and quality standards.
- Developing skills in venepuncture, donor screening, meeting and greeting, appointment management, and reconciliation.
- Flexing through various teams and blood collection facilities including mobiles, static sites, and community clinics across a large geographical area.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, flexible approach.
- Comfortable with the sight of blood.
- Willingness to undertake driving duties and travel to multiple locations.
