Overview
The Business Development Director will work globally with production, marketing, operations management and senior leadership to acquire new business in the target territory. This individual is an important team member, contributing to the overall customer experience through a customer‑centric sales methodology. The role offers a unique opportunity to leverage enterprise sales expertise in a leading localization company.
Responsibilities
- Make contact with clients to develop and maintain healthy working relationships.
- Collaborate with Program Directors, Enterprise Project Managers and PMs to create territory, account, and opportunity plans, RFPs, SOWs, and quotes, ensuring administrative details are handled efficiently.
- Maintain customer data in Salesforce.com, including forecasts, plans, activities, opportunities, and pipelines.
- Coordinate RFP/RFQ/RFI responses as needed.
- Travel approximately 30%, including customer visits and industry events.
- Work with a global team to define value proposition and service offerings for existing and new clients.
- Generate higher return on sales and marketing efforts to increase target client volume.
- Move opportunities through the sales process to achieve closed sales above budget, including closing deals.
- Takes responsibility and accountability for designated clients, territories, verticals, and projects.
- Collaborates with the global team to align expectations with deliverables.
- Acts as an independent contributor with no direct reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a college or university (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Five to seven years of related experience; five to seven years of enterprise‑level, B2B sales experience in professional services and technology solutions to Fortune 500 and mid‑market customers.
- Minimum of two consecutive years of total closed sales in new business of $2million per year.
- Previous experience in enterprise‑level sales within the localization industry.
- Track record of lead generation, key account targeting, qualifying, and closing new business (new and existing accounts).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a data‑based decision‑making mindset.
- Excellent communication and persuasion skills, with success in getting buy‑in for innovative projects.
- Tenacity, sense of urgency, and ability to act quickly with large, less nimble customers.
