Wellspring is a growing community of Primary, Secondary, Special and Alternative Provision Academies across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. We believe in making a real difference by improving the lives and life chances of every young person in our care.

We have a mobile senior site operative position currently available, working flexibly across the academies in Leeds. The role aims to improve and enhance the service we offer to our academies by leading in compliance and maintenance across the Leeds area, providing a comprehensive, customer‑led estates and facilities service across multiple academies and ensuring the efficient and effective running of all estates‑related operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and update the estates management system (TRM) across multiple sites, ensuring compliance in health and safety and estates management, including statutory inspections such as fire, legionella, and gas safety.
  • Support and provide training to users of TRM, ensuring they are equipped to use the system effectively.
  • Assist with the implementation of systems, policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations of the Academy sites.
  • Make a significant contribution to the development of Academy sites to continually improve buildings, grounds and facilities for pupils, staff and to enhance teaching and learning functions.
  • Contribute to the longer‑term 5‑year cycle of estates management maintenance plans.
  • Assist with the inspection and condition of school grounds, buildings, building services and facilities.
  • Assist with the coordination of specialist contractors.
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) within skill set, including fault finding, repairs, and minor improvement works across sites.
  • Perform a wide range of work of other trades as skill level permits.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, current legislation, local codes of practice and policies.
  • Supervise site operatives regarding day‑to‑day duties as required.

Requirements

  • All posts are offered subject to enhanced DBS checks.
  • The role involves working with children and vulnerable adults; therefore, applicants must not be barred from engaging in regulated activity with children and vulnerable adults.
  • Applicants currently living overseas or who have lived or worked overseas in the last five years must provide an overseas criminal records check if selected.
