We have a mobile site operative position currently available. You will work flexibly across the academies in the West Region (Leeds & Barnsley) to improve and enhance the service we offer to our academies.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive, customer‑led estates and facilities service across multiple academies, ensuring the efficient running of all aspects of estates‑related operations.
- Ensure academies premises are maintained to a high standard and deliver a clean, safe, secure learning and working environment.
- Supervise site operatives regarding day‑to‑day duties.
- Monitor and update the estates management system (TRM) across multiple sites, including compliance in health & safety, statutory inspections, legionella, gas safety, etc.
- Support and train users of TRM.
- Assist with the implementation of systems, policies, and procedures for smooth operations of academy sites.
- Contribute to the long‑term 5‑year cycle of estates‑management maintenance plans and the development of academy sites, grounds and buildings.
- Assist with inspection, condition, and co‑ordination of specialist contractors.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) within the skills set (fault finding, repairs, minor improvement works).
- Carry out a range of trade work as skill level permits.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, current legislation, local codes of practice and policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in estates or facilities management, preferably with a mobile site operative role.
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and statutory requirements (fire, legionella, gas safety).
- Strong organisational and supervisory skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel between multiple academies in the West Region.
- Clear DBS check; applicants barred from working with children or vulnerable adults are not eligible.
