Are you a recently qualified Quantity Surveyor looking to build your career within the Groundworks and Civil Engineering sector? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience across a variety of projects while working alongside experienced commercial and operational professionals in a supportive environment with clear career progression.
Responsibilities
- Measuring and quantifying construction drawings
- Preparing cost estimates, valuations, and project budgets
- Assisting in the development and monitoring of work programmes
- Assessing project variations and supporting cost control measures
- Monitoring project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle
- Attending site visits, progress meetings, and client meetings as required
- Assisting with procurement and subcontractor management
- Supporting business development and the promotion of future projects
- Applying industry standards, contractual requirements, and best practices
- Working closely with the Commercial and Civils Teams to ensure successful project delivery
Key Skills
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional and confident approach when dealing with clients and colleagues
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to develop within the construction industry
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Good understanding of construction processes and commercial principles
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software packages
- Full clean driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
