Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Distribution Finance team in London for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. The role will serve as a key member of our client's deal team.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in underwriting more complex and structured deals including new business modifications and renewals within Distribution Finance Underwriting functional area.
- Contribute to large-scale planning related to deliverables within Distribution Finance Underwriting functional area.
- Review and research moderately complex business challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a Distribution Finance Underwriting team to meet project deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the functional area, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate and consult with Distribution Finance Underwriting peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in Distribution Finance Underwriting, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Job Expectations:
- Underwrites new business opportunities in the Vendor portfolio, assessing the credit risk profile (i.e. financial and non-financial aspects) of both potential and existing customers as well as the in-life operational performance ensuring programmes are correctly structured to mitigate against potential credit and operational risks.
- Carries out rigorous annual risk reviews of existing programmes, incorporating an assessment of their credit risk as well as their in-life operational performance.
- Is the go-to person for assigned programmes to provide advice and support as required in relation to CDF’s strike zone, policies & procedures and documentation along with general Elevated Operational Risk matters.
- Is the PMU representative for their respective programmes on deal teams supporting New Relationship Development.
- Embraces Wells Fargo’s Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance framework in line with Wells Fargo policies and guidelines.
- Interacts with 2nd and 3rd line of defence in a collaborative, supportive manner, addressing operational risk or audit matters quickly.
- Delivers on risk metrics, such as Key Risk Indicators, annual credit reviews, financial statement analysis and supporting Portfolio Management.
