Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Associate within the Fund Finance Group Syndications team based in London. The Fund Finance Group ("FFG") provides a comprehensive product offering to financial sponsors and asset managers across subscription finance (syndicated/bilateral subscription facilities), NAV/Hybrid lending (syndicated/bilateral NAV lines and back-leverage), structured credit & advisory (non-bank NAV placement, rated feeders, CFOs). FFG resides within Banking & Capital Markets within Wells Fargo's Corporate & Investment Bank.

Prospective team members will have the opportunity to join an entrepreneurial and global team during a period of innovation across the Fund Finance market. The candidate will work as part of the FFG Syndications team, which, alongside the FFG Origination team, is responsible for arranging new syndicated credit facilities, in addition to developing FFG's broader distribution capabilities and managing lender engagement during key lifecycle events for existing broadly syndicated facilities.

The role will include meaningful lender, investor and client interaction and provides a real opportunity to contribute to the evolution of the FFG product suite during a period of expansion. FFG is a high-performing team and demands a lot from any successful applicant, but in return offers a fast-paced, engaging and collaborative working environment with strong growth prospects.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare pitch materials to outline FFG's syndication capabilities to prospective/existing clients and provide market updates.
  • Prepare customized syndication materials including transaction summaries, lender presentations, and execution timelines.
  • Coordinate the execution of new broadly syndicated facilities and significant post-close amendments with the lender group.
  • Create and maintain external data sites for deal syndication and significant post-close transaction amendments.
  • Support senior team members with lender/investor engagement, including participation in lender calls / meetings and attendance at industry events.
  • Liaise with FFG Origination to address lender credit/legal inquiries and diligence requirements related to KYC/AML.
  • Track and report syndication activity across Fund Finance, including market trends.
  • Prepare internal presentation materials related to syndication activity across the portfolio.
  • Work closely with FFG Origination and loan administration to manage loan execution and funding processes.
  • Liaise with WF Agency for the ongoing management of the syndicate in existing facilities; and
  • Collaborate with other business lines/internal teams on ad hoc projects to develop FFG's distribution capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in capital markets, investment banking or an industry-specific sector. Or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Direct client interaction experience, including some experience interacting with senior decision makers.
  • Experience reading and interpreting legal documents.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, including ability to coordinate multiple work streams and deliver against tight timelines.
  • Experience in using Excel to analyze and clearly present data.
  • Proficient use of Word and PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter with a willingness to work hard, and a strong problem-solving mindset.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Fund Finance, including originating, structuring or syndicating subscription and NAV facilities.
  • Familiarity with private equity funds.
  • Fluency in an additional language is a plus.
  • Experience using Bloomberg is a plus.
