Roles

  • 1:1 Teaching Assistant – providing tailored support for an individual pupil within the classroom environment, helping them to engage fully in school life and achieve their potential.
  • General Teaching Assistant – offering wider classroom support to pupils and teachers, contributing to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • The main duties include providing 1:1 and classroom support for pupils with SEND, supporting their learning, wellbeing and independence, and assisting with organisation, transitions and communication.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, the SENCo and parents/carers, help prepare learning resources, monitor progress and, when required, provide personal care and support.

Qualifications

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in teaching assistance, or equivalent experience, is essential for this role.

Skill Requirements

  • We are looking for someone who has experience working with children or young people (ideally with SEND experience), is patient, flexible and supportive, has strong communication and teamwork skills, and is committed to safeguarding and inclusion.
