We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Wellpets in Cwmbran on a full-time basis. Wellpets Veterinary Practice is a dedicated, RCVS Accredited small animal practice located in Fairwater, Cwmbran. We take great pride in delivering exceptional care to both our patients and their owners, ensuring that every visit is met with compassion and professionalism. How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. This role is a fixed term 9-month maternity cover based between both sites.

Working Pattern

  • 40 hours per week but we are open to part‑time hours 4 days per week with varying shifts 8:00 - 19:00
  • 1:4 Saturdays 8:30 - 13:00
  • No out‑of‑hours or bank holiday requirement

General Responsibilities

  • Assisting Veterinary Surgeons in theatre and consultations
  • Responsibility for inpatient care
  • Monitoring anaesthetics
  • Assisting with patient admissions and discharges
  • Carrying out nurse consultations
