The position of Trade Operations Analyst will work as part of a team in a fast-paced, fluid environment where the ability to prioritise multiple tasks while experiencing short-term interruptions is highly valued. The incumbent will work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues around the world. The primary responsibility will be problem solving and troubleshooting trade issues.
Job requirements:
- Research and resolve equity, fixed income, and FX trade discrepancies by interacting with brokers, banks, and Wellington personnel.
- Instruct trades and trade amendments to service providers when necessary.
- Mitigate risk through strong procedural discipline and prudent judgement.
- Oversee daily activities of external service providers (i.e. offshore resources, vendors).
- Contribute to strategic projects and initiatives, including understanding and relaying requirements for operational support of new things (e.g. markets, trade types) to help with prioritisation of information technology needs.
- Research and evaluate operational requirements of new market/asset types being considered for investment or changes to existing markets.
- Assist other areas of the firm to support client needs and respond to general custody and trading inquiries.
- Ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Experience required:
- A Trade Operations Analyst must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure, possess a high degree of analytical ability and can plan/prioritise tasks in a fluid environment.
- Team orientation and the ability to work in concert with external service providers and colleagues located around the world are essential.
- Successful candidates must have impeccable integrity, a fiduciary mindset, and the ability to consistently place the interest of our clients as the number one factor in judgement, decision-making and actions.
- Knowledge of equities, fixed income and foreign exchange is preferred but not required.
- Technical proficiency in SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Excel macros, or Co-pilot is a value add.
- Experience with commonly used business applications such as Bank websites, ALERT, OASYS, Bloomberg, Omgeo Connect/CTM, Omgeo TradeSuite and SWIFT will be considered a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational, verbal, and written communication skills, with an emphasis on accuracy, concision, and timeliness.
- Relevant job experience preferred.
- Possess the ability to prioritise and multi-task under time pressure.
- Demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter and willingness to learn.
- Possess the ability to ask questions and challenge the status quo for process improvement.
- Personal qualities and values that are consistent with and would be additive to Wellington Management's culture.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel) is required.
