Role introduction and overview: Exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join a busy Contracts team in Bangor, Co Down, supporting the delivery of projects across the water and wastewater assets and infrastructure sector. As a complete end-to-end solutions provider, our client is involved in the design, build and maintenance of assets serving the Municipal, Industrial, Food & Beverage, Dairy and Pharmaceutical markets. This opportunity would suit a candidate from a Mechanical or Electrical engineering background who is looking to build their career within a fast-paced, innovative engineering environment. Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating project delivery from award through to handover, while working across multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clients, suppliers and site personnel. This is an excellent opening for an ambitious engineer with experience in project delivery, engineering coordination, contract administration, project planning, site management, design liaison, water treatment, wastewater treatment, industrial projects, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.

Key Responsibilities as Project Manager:

  • Manage all aspects of projects from contract award through to client handover
  • Coordinate design development through close liaison with designers and take responsibility for key design deliverables including GA drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, schematics and DRAs
  • Arrange the purchasing and supply of equipment and materials required for successful delivery
  • Prepare, update and report against project programmes, ensuring milestones and reporting requirements are achieved
  • Monitor project budgets and maintain accurate cost trackers
  • Take responsibility for health, safety and wellbeing on site, ensuring workplace procedures and policies are understood and followed
  • Assist with tenders as required, including design input, pricing support and quality documentation

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience as Project Manager:

  • Third level degree or diploma in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, or a similar relevant discipline
  • Experience in a similar role within project delivery, contracts or engineering management
  • Background in the design, build or operational phases of industrial projects
  • Understanding of safety and commercial matters relating to project delivery
  • Knowledge of common processes and equipment used in the Water and Wastewater Treatment sector
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
