We are recruiting for a Property Compliance Officer based at our clients offices in Duncrue, Belfast. The role sits within a professional management environment and focuses on helping ensure property assets, projects and maintenance activities meet required legislative, regulatory and recognised industry standards. Working closely with the wider Property Division, this position will support compliance across a varied property portfolio by providing technical advice, coordinating standards-driven processes and contributing to the development of robust asset management practices.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of compliant, well-governed property projects and maintenance operations across the Property Division. Reporting to the Property Asset Manager, the role will involve reviewing technical information, coordinating inspection and assessment activity, supporting the development of asset management systems and helping maintain effective policies, standards and reporting processes. This is a role for someone who can combine technical property knowledge with strong organisation and stakeholder engagement skills. You will work across multiple workstreams, helping to align inspection data, statutory compliance, maintenance standards and project information so that property assets are managed effectively and in line with required obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing an annual schedule of work
- Undertaking Internal Reviews including establishing scope/aims and objectives
- When required, undertaking Process Reviews
- Liaising closely with Network Assurance and Infrastructure & Projects SH&E on wider Audit/governance requirements
- Provision of advice and guidance to all Property employees on the compliance framework surrounding key areas e.g. Asbestos; Legionella, Waste Management, Document control/retention
- Oversight/management of document control register & process
- Oversight/management of change control process
- Creating new/ updating existing documents including procedures, process maps
- Oversight/management of information within the Property Resource Hub
- Ongoing development of SharePoint sites for efficient access and utilisation of digital information for all Property employees
- Partnering with Digital Team and establishing opportunities for improvement in data collection, storage and utilisation
- Ensure appropriate consideration is given to equality duties and role-related commitments
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical subject with a minimum of 3 years' experience in ISO standards implementation in a construction environment, OR HND/HNC or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years' equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of property compliance legislation including Legionella, Asbestos, PAT Testing and Fire
- Ability to collaborate successfully with cross-divisional and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate multiple workstreams across different disciplines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes; hold a full current driving licence and have access to a vehicle; professional appearance and conduct
