Role Introduction and Overview
Exciting opportunity for an experienced construction professional to join the Major Projects team as an NEC Project Manager and play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of rail and infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland. Based in Belfast, the successful Project Manager will be responsible for managing both capital and revenue-funded construction projects from inception through to completion. Projects will support ongoing infrastructure improvements, including major railway regeneration programmes and the early-stage development of strategic rail projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects within a complex and rewarding environment, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities as Project Manager
- Define project requirements, objectives and scope, preparing detailed project briefs.
- Manage project design development processes and technical approvals.
- Develop and maintain Project Execution Plans, project programmes, schedules and critical paths.
- Monitor and manage project costs, budgets and financial reporting.
- Lead project change control processes and risk management activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and company procedures.
- Support the successful delivery of infrastructure, property and construction projects that meet operational requirements and customer expectations.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience as Project Manager
- Degree qualification in a Construction-related discipline such as Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, M&E, Construction Management or similar.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience and understanding of Project Management, Planning and Control processes within a construction environment.
- Proven experience delivering NEC construction or engineering projects within budget, programme and operational constraints.
- Excellent organisational, stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience working within safety-critical environments.
- Professional Project Management accreditation such as APM, Prince2 or IPMA.
