Exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager - Noise Insulation to join a Dublin team, supporting the delivery of capital projects and noise insulation programmes within a live airport environment. This is a hybrid role based in Dublin, with attendance on site required four days per week and one remote working day.
Working within the buildings, infrastructure and environmental improvement space, this opportunity will suit an experienced Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure Project Manager, or Aviation Project Manager with a strong background in complex programme delivery, contract administration, stakeholder coordination, and multidisciplinary team leadership. The successful candidate will represent the contracting entity and oversee projects from planning and design through to completion and handover, ensuring delivery aligns with programme objectives, regulatory obligations, and operational requirements.
Our client is a global infrastructure consulting firm delivering projects across transportation, buildings, water, environment, and wider infrastructure sectors. This role sits within a highly regulated and operationally sensitive setting, requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage delivery interfaces across consultants, contractors, residents, regulatory bodies, and airport stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities as Senior Project Manager:
- Lead the delivery of a portfolio of capital projects and noise insulation programmes from inception through to handover.
- Act as the Contracting Entity's representative with overall responsibility for project performance, governance, and delivery outcomes.
- Oversee project controls across schedule, cost, risk, variations, interfaces, and contracts.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Execution Plan in line with required standards and methodologies.
- Lead and manage a team of Project Managers responsible for multiple concurrent projects.
- Prepare, maintain, and monitor resource plans to support effective project delivery.
- Provide technical, commercial, and contractual guidance to project teams.
- Coordinate project interfaces and ensure issues are identified, managed, and resolved throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage design consultants and external service providers to support delivery requirements.
- Organise and chair design review meetings and communicate formal design acceptance where appropriate.
- Prepare and issue monthly progress reports covering project and construction activities.
- Maintain and update the project risk register and ensure risks are reviewed regularly.
- Manage the change control process, ensuring changes are assessed, approved, documented, and communicated.
- Ensure effective communication and information flow between the project team, client, and wider stakeholders.
- Review and accept programme submissions in accordance with NEC contract requirements.
- Administer contractual communications and obligations under the Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC).
- Manage the compensation event process to ensure fair and timely contract administration.
- Foster collaborative working in the spirit of mutual trust and co-operation across all project parties.
- Engage with residents, local authorities, regulatory bodies, airport operational teams, and internal stakeholders to support successful programme outcomes.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities across project management procedures and delivery practices.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience as Senior Project Manager:
- Minimum 15 years' experience within the construction and infrastructure sector.
- Proven experience delivering projects within aviation and/or similarly complex, regulated infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of working within a live airport operational environment.
- Demonstrated site-based project delivery experience combined with strong office-based project management capability.
- Experience developing and documenting project management best practices, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Track record of delivering construction or asset delivery projects on schedule and within budget.
- Previous experience acting in a client-side Project Manager capacity.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to govern delivery and drive outcomes to meet required standards and objectives.
- Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC forms of contract.
- Strong understanding of engineering and project management principles.
- Ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated, safety-critical project environment.
- Experience overseeing consultant and contractor performance across complex programmes.
