Role introduction and overview:

Our client is seeking multiple Senior Project Managers - Aviation to support the delivery of major airport infrastructure programmes in Dublin. Working across a varied aviation portfolio, this contract opportunity will focus on the successful management of complex projects within live operational environments, including airfield, terminal, infrastructure, and environmental programmes. These roles are well suited to experienced Senior Project Managers, Aviation Project Managers, or Infrastructure Project Managers with a strong background in delivering major infrastructure or construction projects. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile airport development and strategic infrastructure initiatives within a fast-paced and highly regulated sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading project delivery, managing stakeholder relationships, overseeing programme performance, and supporting best practice across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities as Senior Project Manager:

  • Lead aviation and infrastructure projects through the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through to construction and handover
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with required quality standards
  • Manage project interfaces, risks, dependencies, and key delivery milestones
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Project Execution Plans
  • Act as the client representative when coordinating with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with airport authorities, regulators, and project partners
  • Provide clear and accurate reporting on project progress, risks, issues, and overall performance
  • Lead and mentor project teams and support the development of other Project Managers where required
  • Oversee multiple projects or workstreams across wider airport infrastructure programmes
  • Promote governance, best practice, and continuous improvement across project delivery activities
  • Administer contracts under NEC ECC and/or FIDIC forms of contract
  • Manage change control processes, including compensation events where applicable
  • Review contractor programmes and support the certification of payments
  • Support strategic infrastructure planning, capital investment programmes, and long-term aviation objectives where required

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience as Senior Project Manager:

  • Significant experience in project management within infrastructure, construction, or aviation environments
  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex projects in live operational environments
  • Strong background in managing large-scale programmes or multiple concurrent projects
  • Proven leadership capability with experience managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, regulators, contractors, and partners
  • Solid understanding of project delivery across planning, design, construction, and handover phases
  • Working knowledge of NEC and/or FIDIC contracts
  • Experience in contract administration, change control, and commercial management processes
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills
  • Degree qualification in engineering, construction, or a related discipline
  • Chartered status such as RICS, APM, or CIOB is desirable
  • Experience in aviation project delivery is desirable, although experience in similarly complex infrastructure environments will also be considered
