We are seeking a Wastewater Networks Inspector to support our client within NI Water Developer Services, based in Belfast with travel across Northern Ireland. Reporting to the Unadopted Developments Project Manager, this role sits within the wastewater utilities sector and focuses on assessing developer-constructed drainage networks for adoption compliance. This opportunity will suit candidates with experience in drainage inspection, wastewater infrastructure, storm and foul sewer assets, and site-based technical assessment or supervision. The successful candidate will play an important role in reviewing drainage installations, identifying non-compliance issues, coordinating remedial actions, and supporting the documentation required for adoption certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out technical site inspections of developer-constructed drainage systems to assess compliance for adoption
  • Review and interpret CCTV surveys and associated technical information relating to drainage assets
  • Assess the condition and compliance of wastewater foul and storm drainage, manholes, and associated infrastructure
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and specify required remedial works
  • Manage remedial actions through to completion, ensuring works are delivered to an acceptable standard
  • Prepare, review, and maintain inspection records and related technical documentation
  • Produce and update remedial action plans and support the process toward final adoption certification
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders including NI Water teams, developers, contractors, consultants, local authorities, and members of the public
  • Work independently with a high level of autonomy while supporting the objectives of the wider adoptions team

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in the construction, maintenance, or operation of wastewater foul and storm drainage systems
  • Knowledge of manholes and ancillary drainage assets
  • Ability to undertake and interpret technical site inspections and drainage-related assessments
  • Experience reviewing CCTV surveys and associated technical information
  • Capability to identify non-compliant works and contribute to the specification and oversight of remedial solutions
  • Strong document management skills, with the ability to prepare and maintain accurate technical records
  • Comfortable working in a customer-facing environment with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work effectively with a high level of autonomy
  • Strong communication and organisational skills relevant to a site-based technical assessment role
  • Full diving licence as travel to multiple sites will be required
