One of the UK's leading Design and Build Contractors, specialising within the water sector is growing within Ireland and looking to strengthen their Commercial team with a Quantity Surveyor based at our Belfast office with hybrid working available. With a number of live projects on the books and opportunities to expand through current frameworks (greater than 10 million), this is a unique opportunity to grow the team within a Northern Ireland footprint.
As Quantity Surveyor you will support the water/wastewater/bio solid solution team, managing a range of activities, including contract management, risk analysis, supplier collaboration and commercial operations, whilst ensuring value for money for our clients.
Key responsibilities:- Quantity surveying duties in respect of managing projects and work packages.
- Liaise with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost of innovative wastewater solutions.
- Collaborative work with the client to ensure contractual requirements are managed, ensuring contractual notices are raised as necessary.
- Preparation and issue of subcontract documentation, assisting in the management and performance of subcontractors.
- Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment.
- The preparation of project cost & value reports, budgets and forecasts.
- Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff to maintain a supportive working environment.
To be considered for this Quantity Surveyor role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role within Civil engineering, Utilities or MEICA environment.
- Proven experience of contract administration NEC suite of contracts.
- A third-level qualification (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management or similar.
- Working towards or have chartered membership of a recognised institution.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
