Position Summary

The Senior Accountant reports to the Regional Controller and is a key member of the Global Accounting team within the Finance department.

The role involves ownership of accounting and reporting for Wellington's legal entities, preparation of monthly close and regulatory reporting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accounting tasks such as journal entries and reconciliations, and perform financial analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, including providing external audit support (audit work papers, responding to auditor inquiries).
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly and quarterly internal management reporting.
  • Support regulatory reporting and monitor regulatory compliance across entities.
  • Maintain technical knowledge in applicable accounting and reporting standards.
  • Leverage technology to improve processes and financial controls.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of management.
  • Coach and collaborate with other accountants to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting role.
  • ACA (or equivalent) qualification required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including written and verbal presentation.
  • Experience coaching or leading a team.
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to build trust and collaboration across departments.
