As part of the continued growth of our business in EMEA, we are currently recruiting a Relationship Analyst to join our Business Development & Relationship Management Group (the Client Group). This individual will be an integral member of the institutional team supporting the business activities with a broad range of prospects and clients in the Switzerland region within this global prestigious firm and will be based in Zurich.
Relationship Analysts (RAs) provide centralised coordination of various functions to service clients across various entity types. They support the Business Development and Relationship Management objectives in their teams working with our existing client and/or consultant relationships and prospects. The core role of the RA is to ensure that client and/or consultant needs are met and to support our business development efforts, delivering service alpha across the board.
Success in this role requires the RA to have the ability to be proactive in supporting our business development activities, looking to assess and support our prospect and cross-selling opportunities. In addition, RAs also support our existing client relationships. This requires the RA to maintain and update client CRM data, analyse opportunities for our clients and prospective clients, and oversee and coordinate the completion of information requests. RAs will work with internal stakeholders to ensure we meet our clients' expectations and to ensure deadlines are met. Attention to detail is critical - the ability not only to pull data from the various applications available, but also to analyse the data and understand whether that data makes sense. RAs need to have the ability to work independently, in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, where priorities change frequently and deadlines often need to be met under significant time pressure. Finally, RAs should have a solid knowledge of investments, such that they are able to fully understand, and respond to, client enquiries and requests.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow within this highly regarded, exceptional Asset Management house. On-hand training and support from senior stakeholders provide the opportunity to learn from the best in the business and enable strong contributions to the firm.
The Client Group is responsible for strengthening and growing our prospect, client, and consultant relationships around the world. Wellington Management serves an extremely diverse mix of institutional investors located in over 50 countries. Our clients include public funds, central banks, insurance entities, endowments, foundations, mutual fund sponsors, retirement plan sponsors - both defined benefit and defined contribution - and many other types of institutions. We view business development and relationship management as a point of differentiation among our peers. Our experienced professionals are typically specialized by client type and geography. In carrying out their respective functions, they will take into consideration local nuances and channel differences to ensure a thorough understanding of the unique needs of prospects and clients by being proactive, forward-thinking, and effective communicators.
Responsibilities include:
- Driving the preparation of high impact presentations of standard and/or customized client and prospect presentation materials, briefing books and collateral materials as well as meeting notes if in attendance and follow ups required for external meetings.
- Participating in client, consultant and prospect meetings and conference calls as appropriate.
- Conducting analysis, initiating investigations and responding to internal and external ad-hoc inquiries on a wide variety of topics, including portfolio and product specific information, investment guidelines, market trends, regulation considerations and fees.
- Acting as a point of contact for various groups within client organisations.
- Coordinating key client communications acting as a trusted liaison between clients and internal teams.
- Supporting the local Relationship and Business Development Managers in the organisation of client roadshows and client review meetings.
- Capturing and maintaining client data in relevant internal systems.
- Qualifying and coordinating Requests for Information (RFI's) /Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ) and Requests for Proposals (RFP's) and working with internal teams to ensure that each one receives the proper response.
- Developing an understanding of the depth and breadth of Wellington Management's investment approaches and those products most relevant to the Swiss channel.
- Champion data accuracy and insight-driven reporting leveraging the DMP (Delivery Management Platform) for client reporting, updating requirements on existing accounts and creating new templates during onboarding, working in partnership with our Investec team for SMA's.
- Working with the CSO (Client Service Operations) team to provide responses on operational questions.
- Working alongside our internal Funds Group as needed for fund prospecting, onboarding and servicing requirements/questions.
Qualifications:
- Have 2-3 years of relevant client service experience, preferably gained within the Investment Management industry. Experience of working with institutional clients and consultants would be advantageous.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of capital markets and/or investment products.
- Have a clear understanding of the local market.
- Have a strong academic background. Ideally this will include progress towards a professional qualification (e.g. CFA/CAIA or equivalent).
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English language skills. Other languages including French and Swiss German would be advantageous.
- Be self-motivated, creative and enthusiastic.
- Be a natural collaborator who can work well in a small team.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
