We are seeking an Equity Research Analyst to join the Global Impact Team. The team's approach seeks to produce an attractive financial return by investing in companies that aim to address some of the world's most intractable problems aligned with our eleven impact themes and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Analyst will conduct fundamental security analysis and assist in thematic research. Given the broad and evolving nature of the Global Impact investment universe, the Analyst will be comfortable operating as a generalist, moving across sectors, geographies, and impact themes to pursue the best opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze public equity securities for inclusion in global all-cap, impact-investment portfolios;
- Analyze financial statements; create and maintain detailed financial models on individual companies;
- Conduct proprietary research including interviewing company management, customers, and suppliers;
- Monitor individual portfolio investments;
- Research impact themes and evaluate companies for inclusion into the investible universe;
- Synthesize financial, operational, and impact inputs into clear recommendations;
- Actively contribute to research ideas and portfolio construction;
- Complete complex analytical projects under time constraints;
- Prepare written reports and oral presentations for internal and external audiences.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5+ years of equity investing experience with a preference for impact or sustainability-aligned work, preferably on the buy-side. Comfort with emerging and frontier markets is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment;
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail;
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills; strong financial modeling skills required;
- Demonstrated research "horsepower", including delivering rigorous, high-velocity research at pace;
- Ability to think flexibly; comfort defending non-consensus views and challenging the views of others;
- Ability to be a thought partner on portfolio construction and risk management;
- Self-awareness and self-confidence to be comfortable "being wrong;"
- Independence of thought and curiosity about the world;
- Efficient time management and excellent organizational skills;
- Strong academic credentials, MBA or CFA preferred.
Location
The Equity Research Analyst, Global Impact will be based in Wellington's Global Headquarters in Boston, MA, or the New York, NY or London, UK office.

The base salary range for this position is: USD 90,000 - 180,000. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process. Base salary is only one component of Wellington's total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/or Incentives, if eligible.
