Job Title:

HR Consultant

Location:

The role will be predominately home-based, within the South of England, with appropriate, expenses-paid travel for client meetings and related duties. Occasional UK overnight stays may be required.

Salary:

£35,000 – £38,000 depending on experience. Pro-rata for part-time contracted hours.

Contract:

Permanent, subject to a successful probationary period of 6 months.

Hours:

The role is offered on a full-time basis of 37.5 hours per week, with a 30-minute break each day.

We are also open to applications from people who would like to work on a part-time basis. To ensure the best standard of service to our clients, please note that we would require a minimum working week of 30 hours, over four or five days.

It is important to note that there is a requirement to work on a Friday.

What You’ll Need (Essential):

· CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.

· Solid understanding of current employment law requirements in England and Wales.

· At least two years of experience in an HR Advisor role (or similar).

· Proven Experience in managing and advising on employee relations, supporting organisational development and change, and drafting and updating HR documentation to align with legislation, best practices and organisational needs.

· Confidence in handling challenging HR conversations to achieve the best outcomes.

· Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

· GCSE grade 5/C in English and maths (or equivalent).

· Commitment to continuous professional development, particularly in employment law and HR best practices.

· Skilled in building relationships and influencing employees and managers.

· Unrestricted right to work in the United Kingdom.

· Full driving licence with a maximum of six points, and own vehicle that can be insured for work purposes.

What We’d Love to See (Desirable):

· A passion for training design / delivery.

· Knowledge of Employee Ownership, especially Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs).

· Experience handling TUPE situations.

· Confidence in designing and delivering training.

· Experience and/or qualification in workplace mediation.

· Experience advising on pay and reward.

· Experience working as an HR Consultant or HR Business Partner

· Institute of Leadership and Management Qualification.

· Good commercial awareness.

· Experience of involvement in employment tribunal hearings.

What You’ll Be Doing:

· Responding to day-to day employer queries.

· Building trusted client relationships.

· Providing proactive and reactive HR support.

· Advising on employee relations, including conducting investigations (disciplinary, grievance, appeals)

· Drafting of HR documentation such as employment contracts and policies.

· Supporting specialised projects based on client needs.

· Handling administrative tasks related to our services.

· Designing and delivering training on people management and employment law topics.

· Assisting with attracting and securing new clients.

· Contributing to the Company’s growth strategy.
