Computer Science is a thriving and growing subject at Wellington. You will join a close-knit team of three full-time and one part-time specialist teachers, working across three dedicated classrooms and an additional flexible space that supports talks, workshops and co- and extra-curricular activities. The department brings together strong classroom practice and real-world industry experience, offering pupils a rich, contemporary understanding of the digital landscape.

Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, the College offers an attractive and well-resourced setting in which to teach. Working with pupils aged 13-18, you will contribute to an academically ambitious curriculum across GCSE, A Level and the IB Diploma. You will design imaginative and intellectually stretching lessons that help pupils develop robust computational thinking, sound programming habits and an appreciation of areas such as systems architecture, data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital ethics. You will support learners of all abilities to achieve highly, nurturing both those taking their first steps in the subject and those preparing for competitive applications to leading universities.

The department plays an active role in the wider Wellington community, including supporting the Wellington College Learning Alliance through a subject-specific support group in Computer Science. Over the coming year, an exciting priority will be the relaunch of a student-led digital innovation society, giving pupils the chance to create computational solutions that directly benefit staff and students across the College. You will also be encouraged to contribute to enrichment opportunities such as coding clubs, robotics, competitions and technical workshops.

Life at Wellington is dynamic and deeply collaborative.
