Teach Science in a supportive Prep School where enquiry, creativity and high academic standards prepare pupils for outstanding senior school pathways. Wellington College Prep is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our academic team from either September 2026 or January 2027. Located in Sandhurst, Berkshire, and set within the grounds of Wellington College, Wellington College Prep offers a vibrant and nurturing environment for pupils and staff.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving Prep School where Science plays an important role in developing pupils' curiosity, confidence and enjoyment of learning. Teaching is characterised by high expectations, creativity and a strong focus on pupil wellbeing, ensuring that every child is supported to achieve their best academically and personally.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging Science teaching across the Prep School age range, fostering enquiry through practical work, discussion and exploration. Working collaboratively within the department and the wider academic team, you will contribute to a culture of reflective practice and shared expertise, supporting strong outcomes for pupils of all abilities.
Wellington College Prep is predominantly a day school, with a small number of flexi and weekly boarders, and offers a rich educational experience that prepares pupils for progression to Wellington College and other academically selective senior schools. Teachers play a full role in the life of the School, contributing to its pastoral ethos and vibrant co-curricular programme.
As a tutor, you will support the academic and personal development of a group of pupils, building positive relationships with families and colleagues. We are looking for a teacher with strong subject knowledge, a genuine enthusiasm for Science education and a commitment to inclusive practice. You will bring excellent communication skills, a calm and professional classroom presence, and a willingness to engage fully in the wider life of the School.
Experience within a Prep or Primary setting is welcomed, but we also encourage applications from those who are eager to develop their practice within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
