Wellington College is a world-leading independent boarding and day school. We are a dynamic, values-led community where ambition and collaboration drive excellence across academic life, sport, and the wider school community. Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, our 400 acre estate is a unique and inspiring place to work. You will play an important role in our school community, working alongside dedicated colleagues to ensure the smooth and effective running of Wellington. Your contribution will directly support pupils, staff, and visitors every day, and you will have access to development opportunities that help you grow in your career. The Health Centre is central to the College's commitment to pupil wellbeing, offering a round-the-clock service in which clinical care and thoughtful pastoral support go hand in hand. We are seeking a registered Nursing Sister to join this collaborative team, bringing sound judgement, compassion and a reassuring presence to the care of pupils, staff and visitors. This is a varied clinical role, encompassing assessment and treatment for illness and injury, first aid, emergency response and the sensitive management of pupils whose needs may be physical, emotional or long term. The successful candidate will support the delivery of specialist health provision, including care relating to asthma and diabetes, travel health, vaccinations and sexual health, while ensuring that each pupil receives appropriate advice, monitoring and onward support. Working closely with the College Medical Officer, GP team, boarding Houses, safeguarding and wellbeing colleagues, parents and external healthcare professionals, the Nursing Sister will help coordinate care that is responsive, confidential and centred on the individual. They will be confident in balancing competing priorities within a busy Health Centre, including periods of independent working, and will recognise when timely escalation is needed. Working on a Rota basis including days, nights and weekends, the role calls for a reflective, highly organised practitioner with a strong commitment to evidence-based nursing, careful clinical documentation and safe medicines management. A clear understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding and infection-control practice is essential, alongside the ability to communicate calmly and sensitively in situations that may be urgent or distressing. This is an opportunity for a collaborative nurse who values continuous professional development and wishes to make a meaningful contribution to an outstanding school community. The successful candidate will model excellent standards of care, share learning with colleagues and help maintain an environment in which every member of the College community can access respectful, dependable health support. Joining a school community brings a strong sense of purpose and connection. At Wellington, you will have access to training and development that supports your professional growth, while working with colleagues who take pride in delivering excellent service across our campus. Wellington College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Applicants must undergo child protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You must have the right to work in the UK. We welcome applications from all backgrounds. We promote an inclusive and supportive environment and are an equal opportunities employer. All candidates must apply via our online application form using the link below. A CV may be uploaded in support of the application, but the Wellington application form must be completed in full for your application to be considered.
