Wellington College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housekeeper (Boarding House Assistant) to join our team and play a vital role in the day-to-day care and ensure the wellbeing of our boarders are to the highest standard.

The Role:

We are offering a working week during term time of 26 hours, 52 weeks per year on a rota basis. A choice of working either; 7:30 – 11:30 with 1 long day a week and every other Saturday or 14:00 – 18:00 with 1 long day a week and every other Saturday. Please confirm when applying if you are looking to work either the morning or afternoon shift, these shifts cannot be split over both.

During Wellington College school holidays the working week would be Monday – Thursday, 7:30-12:45, Friday 7:30-12:30

Main Responsibilities: (Including but not limited to; see job description for full requirements):

  • Complete daily cleaning tasks as assigned, following the house cleaning schedule
  • Coordinate a full call-over when waking boarders in the morning
  • Monitor pupils\’ medical needs, including administering and observing prescribed and non-prescribed medication
  • Arrange travel for pupils to A&E or personal appointments
  • Manage access for visitors and contractors to the house

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • A well-developed understanding of the English language, both spoken and written
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A caring, reliable, and proactive approach
  • Awareness of safeguarding requirements (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential)
