Support high quality practical science in a busy school laboratory environment, helping pupils learn chemistry safely through hands‑on experimentation. We are seeking a Chemistry Technician to join our Science, Technology and Engineering Faculty from September. The role requires 37.5 hours per week for 33 weeks per year and supports the delivery of high quality practical Chemistry across the curriculum.

Working closely with teaching colleagues and fellow technicians, the Chemistry Technician plays an important part in the smooth day‑to‑day running of the Chemistry Department. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing equipment, materials and chemical solutions for lessons
  • Supporting practical activities and demonstrations
  • Maintaining laboratories and preparation areas to a high standard

The Technician will contribute to safe working practices by following established procedures for chemical handling, storage and disposal, maintaining accurate records, and supporting health and safety checks across learning spaces. The role requires good organisation, attention to detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to work calmly and professionally in a busy laboratory environment. Experience in a laboratory or educational setting is welcomed, but enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to learn are equally important.
