Wellington College is a thriving co-educational boarding and day school set in 400 acres of Berkshire countryside. Every member of our Domestic Services team plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment that supports the daily life and wellbeing of our pupils, staff and visitors.
We are currently recruiting for a number of Cleaner roles within our Domestic Services team. These positions are essential to the smooth running of College life, supporting the daily operations of both Wellington College and the Wellington Health & Fitness Club. From maintaining hygiene in pupil-facing areas to ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of teaching spaces, offices and sports facilities, our Cleaners help create a safe, well-organised and professional environment.
We offer flexible working hours to suit a variety of schedules and welcome applications from individuals seeking opportunities.
Successful candidates will be physically fit, reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Well-developed English language skills—spoken, written and reading—are essential, as the role involves following instructions, communicating with colleagues and responding to operational needs. A flexible and proactive approach is particularly important during busy periods or when supporting weekend cleaning rotas.
Previous experience in cleaning roles within schools, offices or sports facilities is welcomed. Familiarity with COSHH regulations, manual handling and safeguarding practices in an educational setting would be advantageous, as would experience using commercial cleaning equipment or working in a boarding school or residential environment.
As part of our commitment to staff wellbeing, Wellington College offers a warm and supportive working environment alongside a generous benefits package. This includes 33 days of annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), complimentary lunches during shifts—freshly prepared, nutritious and offering a wide variety of high-quality options—subsidised membership to the Wellington Health & Fitness Club, a competitive personal pension scheme, and access to our Employee Assistance Programme, which includes 24/7 remote GP services. These are just a few of the many benefits available to our team.
