We have an exciting opportunity within our Science Department who are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to start in January. Key responsibilities:
- Be willing to teach across the full age range years 5-8
- Enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the Department and wider School through sharing resources and good practice, lesson observation, collaborative teaching, mentoring and active participation in continuing professional development
- Teach a standard timetable allocation
- Make a positive contribution to the efficient running of the Department, including, setting and marking examinations, attending departmental meetings and undertaking administrative and other tasks as delegated by the Head of Department
- Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of children
- Adhere to and promote all School policies and procedures
What we are looking for:
Essential
- Good level degree in this subject or another directly related subject or a suitable Post Graduate qualification
- Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE.
- Thorough knowledge of the subject Curriculum (KS1/2/3)
- A good understanding and or experience using Microsoft 365 suite, Teams and associated apps for teaching and learning
Desirable
- Significant teaching experience years 1-8
- Ability to teach other subjects across the curriculum
- Awareness of Safeguarding requirements and good practice within a boarding school setting
- High level of IT literacy
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities (professional, amateur or voluntary)
